Grill Element
A grill or oven element is the element that you can see at the top of your oven or grill.
The grill element is usually operated on your oven by the setting that has some form of a zig zagging line at the top of a square.
Oven Element
A base oven element or sometimes called a bottom oven element is the element that is hidden from normal view but heats your oven from beneath.
The element is usually operated on your oven by the setting that has some form of a single horizontal line at the bottom of a square and is usually used for gently cooking something like a casserole or making food like a pizza's base crispy.
How do I know if my grill / oven element is faulty?
- If you select a setting with just the the zig zag symbol and you don't get any heat then this means your grill element need replacing.
- If you select a setting without the fan or zig zag symbol and you don't get any heat then this means your oven element need replacing.
